With nearly 27,000 students and 141 degree programs, GSU is the largest comprehensive university south of Atlanta with a campus in Savannah and one 45 minutes away in Statesboro.

Through Georgia’s Dual Enrollment high school students can begin taking college courses in the 10th grade for free, scaling up to a full load of college free in the 12th grade.  Then students can get four years of Hope Scholarship which extends the total possible to six years of college paid for by the State of Georgia.

Chatham County

In-state tuition for the Georgia Southern University Armstrong campus in Savannah is $5,360.  Attractive programs at a middle and high school in the Chatham County public school system are also shown below.

Bullock County

Bullock, with a population of 70,000, includes the City of Statesboro which is the location of the primary campus of Georgia Southern University, a 54 minute drive to downtown Savannah.  In-state tuition and fees are $6,890 per semester.  GSU Statesboro has 17,759 undergraduates and 2,659 graduate students.

Bluffton, SC

Bluffton SC is located on the May River and is divided between “old Bluffton” and “new Bluffton which is comprised of a number of gated communities.  Bluffton is a 36 minute drive to downtown Savannah.  The main highway into Hilton Head Island runs through Bluffton and therefore extensive retail and food service choices are available in Bluffton.  Bluffton/Hilton has an incubator called the Don Ryan Center.

The University of South Carolina, Beaufort offers in-state tuition to Georgia residents in Chatham, Effingham and Bryan counties.  In-state tuition at USCB is $5, 172 per semester.
